SLUHS Band Attends State Fair

On Monday, September 8th, the Mustang Marching Band attended the State Fair in Hutchinson, Kansas.  The band performed the Mustang Fight Song and  School  Spririt (Lucas-Luray fight song).  The marching band was judged and received a 2+.  Congratulations to all who participated!   read more

Osborne Volleyball Tournament Information

The Lady Mustang Volleyball team will travel to Osborne on Saturday, September 27th, to participate in a tournament.  The tournament starts at 8 am and is a round robin tournament.  Admission is $5 adults/$3 students.  The order of matches is listed below: 1. Current Highlights

History

In 2010 Russell School District 407 transferred the territory and schools of Lucas and Luray to Sylvan Unified School District 299.  Starting with the 2010-2011 school year, USD 299 then established a grade school, grades K-6 in Lucas, called Lucas-Sylvan Unified Elementary, home of the Cougars.  Grades 7-12 were housed in the Sylvan Grove facility, called Sylvan-Lucas Unified Jr./Sr. High School, home of the Mustangs.  The merger went well and it doubled the number of students in the 299 district.   The . . . read more

Mustang Volleyball takes 3rd at SLUHS Invitational (9-13-14)

The Lady Mustang Volleyball team came away with a 3rd place finish at their home invitational on Saturday, September 13th.  In pool play the Mustangs defeated Palco (25-20, 25-19) and Chase (25-20, 25-17) and lost to Logan (9-25, 11-25).  The Mustangs opened bracket play facing defending tournament champion Ell-Saline.  After winning the first set (25-19), the girls lost the next two sets (19-25, 18-25).  The SLUHS Volleyball team rebounded in the 3rd place match to defeat Lincoln (21-25, 25-21, 25-19).   read more
