Foundation is a community foundation that was established in 2004 because of growing concern over the declining enrollment of Sylvan Unified School District and the decreasing population of the communities it serves.

Think for a moment ...

What would our communities be like without our school?  Our communities would cease to grow and we may even lose more population and cease to exist.

Perhaps you have lived in Denmark, Hunter, Sylvan Grove or Vesper your entire life. Maybe you just moved here to raise your children or follow a job opportunity.  It could be you have moved away - but

whatever the reason, one of these communities you still call home.

     The Sylvan Area

All grades have had a good second year housed in the once Jr/Sr High building.  The Standard of Excellence was achieved by both the Sylvan Unified Elementary and High

School in reading, math and science.  In reading, grades three through 11 met the Standard.  In math, grades three, six, seven and eight met the Standard of Excellence with

grades four, seven and 11 met the Standard in science.

Once again, the Sylvan Unified High School  was recognized by US

Sylvan Unified students were recognized for outstanding achievements on Kansas State Assessments at a December Basketball game.
